A unique feature of WIB is the possibility of creating research teams by people employed in various research units in Poland. These units must come from the catalogue of entities listed in Article 11 of the April 4, 2019 Act on Supporting Scientific Activity From the Polish Science Fund (Journal of Laws of May 6, 2019, item 823) and must be registered in the territory of the Republic of Poland.
WIB funds are used to finance leaders and teams whose work, thanks to the concentration around a single area – medical biotechnology, can complement each other and allow to achieve a multiplied research effect.
In selecting the research teams, the managing entity shall take into account:
1) previous achievements of the members of the research team in the field of scientific activity and commercialization of the results of this activity;
2) the capacity of the research team to conduct world-class research activities;
3) the importance of the expected effects of scientific activity on the economic development and development policy of the country, including the contribution to the innovativeness of the economy;
4) commercialization potential of the planned effects of scientific activity.
During the implementation of the program, information on research teams and their research topics will be published here.
