The research task „ Horizon for Excellence in messenger RNA applications in immunoOncology [ HERO ] ”, led by prof. Andrzej Dziembowski of the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Research in Warsaw, is been implemented from 2022 under the Virtual Research Institute.

The goal of the HERO Team’s work is to develop high-efficacy therapeutic mRNA technology and its application in cancer immunotherapy.

The project is led by outstanding scientists hailing from scientific units jointly forming, for the purpose of research work, a consortium consisting of: International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw, University of Warsaw, Warsaw Medical University, and Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
